6g Citrulline, 200mg Caffeine, Straight-Up Performance Formula

Bucked Up nailed a solid middle-ground pre-workout here: not a crazy stim bomb, not just pumps, and not overloaded with everything. They focus on a real pump dose, enough energy to get you going, some brain and performance helpers, and a totally open label so you know what you're getting. No shady prop blends like some others.

The star is 6,000mg citrulline malate. That's the amount serious lifters want because citrulline boosts arginine levels better than arginine alone, which ramps up nitric oxide for wider blood vessels. In the gym, you feel better blood flow, bigger pumps, and more oxygen and nutrients hitting your muscles. This makes it way better than basic pre-workouts that skimp with only 3-4g.

Beta-alanine comes in at 2,000mg. It helps make carnosine, which buffers acid in your muscles to fight that deep burn during tough sets. Studies show 3,200-6,400mg daily is ideal, so 2g is a bit light. It can still help over time, especially if you get more from other supps, but it's not a full dose on its own. Real talk: it's decent, but not maxed out like the research suggests.

Caffeine anhydrous is at 200mg, keeping things moderate. You get a good bump in alertness, drive, and energy without tipping into high-stim chaos. For a lot of people, this is just right—feels strong but easy to handle day after day. Vitamin B12 is

Key Highlights

  • 6,000mg Citrulline Malate — this is the real deal for pumps. Citrulline boosts arginine and nitric oxide, opening up blood vessels so you get more blood, oxygen, and nutrients to your muscles during lifts.
  • 200mg Caffeine Anhydrous — a solid energy kick that most folks can use without issues. It ramps up alertness, energy, and workout motivation without jumping to that 300mg+ level that can mess with your vibe.
  • 200mg AlphaSize® Alpha-GPC — a quality choline source for better focus and muscle connection. It helps turn raw energy into sharp concentration, especially if you care about feeling every rep.
  • 2,000mg Beta-Alanine — here for endurance by building carnosine to buffer muscle burn. The science backs it strong, but this dose is under the usual 3.2-6.4g daily studied amount, so it's best with consistent use or extra beta-alanine.
  • 100mcg Vitamin B12 as Methylcobalamin — the active form, not some cheap version. B12 keeps your energy systems and nerves running smooth, fitting right into a stim-based pre-workout.
  • Fully disclosed label — everything's listed out clear as day. In a world of hidden blends, this lets you check if it stacks up to what you've read, no guesses.
  • AstraGin® at 25mg — added to help your body absorb nutrients better by tweaking gut transporters. Data often points to 50mg for best results, so this is on the lighter side, but it shows they're thinking about making the formula work harder, not just adding more caffeine.
  • ActiGin at 25mg — thrown in for better performance and workout efficiency. It's not the main event, but it fits the goal of boosting your output beyond just stims.

Who Is This For?

  • Bodybuilders hunting pumps and better workouts without max stims. 6g citrulline malate delivers the flow for volume days on chest, shoulders, arms, and legs, with 200mg caffeine keeping you going strong.
  • Mid-level lifters in hypertrophy programs with decent volume. It hits with vasodilation from citrulline, drive from caffeine, and some burn-fighting from beta-alanine for when sets get real.
  • Gym folks who need a boost but hate how high-stims kill sleep or recovery. 200mg is that Goldilocks zone—sharpens mornings or evenings without the fallout.
  • Lifters big on focus and feeling the muscle work. AlphaSize® alpha-GPC adds that brain boost for better concentration and contractions, beyond just heart-pumping energy.
  • People who check labels and hate blends. Everything's out in the open, so you see the strong stuff like 6g citrulline and decide for yourself.
  • Bucked Up loyalists who dig the brand's vibe but want something everyday-usable. Deer antler velvet keeps it signature, while the stim level and clear label make it friendly for more people.

How to Use

Grab one serving 20-30 minutes pre-workout so caffeine and focus kick in for your sets. If you're new to stims or sensitive, try half first—200mg can hit hard. Mix with 10-16 oz cold water in a shaker; more water mellows it, less amps it up. Empty stomach speeds it up, but a light meal an hour before helps if stims bug you. Don't stack with other caffeine sources unless you're tracking totals, as they add up fast. It goes great with creatine, electrolytes, and intra carbs for big sessions. No need to cycle the non-stims, but take caffeine breaks sometimes to stay sensitive. Keep it sealed, cool, and dry to avoid clumping.

What to Expect

Minutes 0-10: it's more about building up than a huge rush, especially on an empty stomach. Minutes 10-20: 200mg caffeine hits with better alertness, and you might get some beta-alanine tingles at 2g. Minutes 20-40: prime time to start—focus sharpens from caffeine and AlphaSize®, and citrulline pumps show as sets stack up. Minutes 40-90: energy holds steady thanks to the moderate dose, keeping things productive without the shakes from stronger stuff. Days 1-7: you feel the immediate pump, energy, and focus. Weeks 2-4: beta-alanine steps up as carnosine builds, but at 2g it's a slower climb than full 3.2g+ daily.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much caffeine is in Bucked Up pre-workout?

This formula provides 200mg caffeine anhydrous per serving. That puts it in the moderate-stim range—strong enough for clear workout energy and focus, but lower than the 300-400mg doses used in more aggressive high-stim pre-workouts.

Is 6g citrulline malate a good dose?

Yes. 6,000mg citrulline malate is one of the strongest parts of this formula and sits in the range serious users look for when they want meaningful pump and blood-flow support. It supports nitric oxide production through increased arginine availability, which is why the workout feels fuller and more vascular.

Is the beta-alanine dose fully clinical?

Not quite. Beta-alanine is included at 2,000mg, while the most studied range for increasing muscle carnosine and supporting high-intensity performance is typically 3,200-6,400mg daily. It can still contribute over time, but it is below the classic full clinical target.

What does AlphaSize® do in this formula?

AlphaSize® is a trademarked alpha-GPC ingredient used here at 200mg to support focus, attention, and neuromuscular performance. It helps the formula feel more locked in and coordinated, not just stimulated.

Will this make me tingle?

Possibly. The 2,000mg beta-alanine dose can cause the familiar tingling sensation called paresthesia in some users, especially on an emptier stomach. It is harmless and related to the ingredient, not a sign that something is wrong.

Should I take this every day or only on workout days?

Most users will use it on training days, but the beta-alanine component works best with consistent daily intake because carnosine builds gradually in muscle. If beta-alanine saturation is a priority for you, many users add standalone beta-alanine on non-training days.

Can I stack this with creatine?

Yes, and it is one of the smartest stacks. This formula does not include creatine, so adding 3-5g creatine monohydrate gives you a research-backed ATP support ingredient that complements citrulline’s blood-flow effects and beta-alanine’s acid-buffering role.

Is taurine meaningfully dosed here?

Not relative to the research range. Taurine is included at 100mg, while performance studies often use 1,000-3,000mg. It is present, but it is not a major driver of the formula’s real-world effects.

What is deer antler velvet doing in this product?

Deer antler velvet is a signature Bucked Up inclusion and part of the brand’s identity. At 50mg, it is best viewed as a specialty add-on rather than the primary engine of the formula, which is driven much more by citrulline, caffeine, and AlphaSize®.

Is this a good beginner pre-workout?

It can be, but beginners should start with half a serving. The 200mg caffeine is manageable for many people, but if you are new to stimulants, tolerance varies widely and a half serving is the best way to gauge response.

Ten years of ownership…Thank you, Timex!
Color: Black, Size: One Size
Solid watch for everyday wear. I have worn this watch for over 10 years. I let a watch shop replace the battery about every 18 months. Other than the original band (which lasted 5 years) I have had zero problems. Still looks great, rugged and manly😇 Overall I recommend this watch for its value, reliability, simple clear design, legible hands in all light conditions. Great watch!!!

Nice simple effective inexpensive watch
Color: Black, Size: One Size
I just ordered my second one of these. They are cheap, keep good time, show me the date, and last a long time. My last one lasted over 10 years. The only thing wrong with the last one was that the battery needed replacement (I think it was only the second time it had needed a battery in all the years I had owned it) at the same time the band wore out and broke. Rather than buy a new battery plus a new band, I just got a new one. I am hard on watches, and this one stood up very well. I regularly shower and swim with it on, and no problems. It doesn't have a lot of functions I don't need, like stopwatch, multiple time zones, etc. I have found those things more of a bother than a benefit, because any time you bump the knob against something, the display changes and you're always pressing all the buttons multiple times just to get the simple info needed- like what time is it and what is the date DEC 2020 UPDATE - I am ordering another one of these. The last one, I bought in mid 2019. Early in 2020, the date function quit working. By the end of November, the whole thing quit working. I know it's not the battery, because the light still works. So I am reducing my review by one star, and we'll see how well a new one does. The watch before the current one lasted about 10 years, so getting only a little over a year out of the current one is not good. Perhaps the current one just wasn't as good as the previous ones. It's entirely possible that they keep making the same watch out of lesser and lesser materials and workmanship.

Timex. Life is ticking.
Color: Black, Size: One Size
A family member is headed off to Navy boot camp and is required to have a watch-a black watch. But...it cannot be anything in the realm of, be like, or indeed be an Apple Watch. The search began for a simple timepiece. Economy was important since after the 8 weeks of boot camp ended, use of the current watch would be resumed. Enter Timex...(the world's largest manufacturer of watches and mechanical time fuses). During the Amazon search there were all manner of economically (actually cheap) watches noted to be available, so many that it was simply overwhelming. Timex...tried and true since 1854 (just a fun fact, but actually attests to the quality of the company) was the chosen one. A simple but reliable timepiece was required, and certain qualifications were needed. First, it had to be an accurate time keeper and have a second hand, and have a date indicator. Secondly, there had to be an element of water resistance (this is Navy boot camp after all, so water is important!). Thirdly, it had to be black. Fourth, no bells or whistles whatsoever. Finally, a face with 24 hour/military time would be a bonus. This Timex Rugged Core Expedition Analog Watch fit the bill. Upon arrival it was packaged in a traditionally square box the size of the watch, no frills but sturdy enough to ward off damage during shipping. Once opened the first thing noticed was the face of the watch. It was black, with white numerals in both standard and 24 hour/military time, had a red second hand, luminescent hour and minute hands, and date indicator. The nylon band was also black, had ridges, and had a fastener like a belt. At the end of the band were two extrusions which seemed to lock the excess band into place once it was fastened. After wearing a number of days, the watch has kept excellent time matching the Apple Watch. Both watches were worn on the same arm at the same during the day and during sleep. They were worn during regular daily activities, during exercise and during strenuous garden work such as hauling, digging holes, dragging 40 lb bags, etc. Time was checked multiple times per day, and the time on each watch was exactly the same every time checked. The Timex was water resistant during a 5 minute shower and while submerged water. This is not a dive watch but, according to the ad, is water resistant to 50 feet for light swimming. The performance of this watch has been more than satisfactory executing in stellar fashion everything it was stated to be able to do. I can recommend this watch for boot camp purposes without reservation. Top 3 Likes: -Reliable keeping accurate time, has military time numerals -Is water resistant as tested -Is black, attractive with luminescent hands, second hand, date, and light up face Top 3 Dislikes: -The band is stiff and somewhat difficult to latch -The two little extrusions do anchor the band, but are difficult to undo to take off the watch -Only two dislikes!

Timesx quality still rules.
Color: Black, Size: One Size
Excellent everyday watch. Stylish, easy to read, and accurate. Needed a knock around watch and this puts up with it's share of abuse. It's a bit more expensive than some others in this class, but Timex is well-worth the money in quality. I use mine for eveything except when I need something more formal.
