An indispensable book for any serious professional or researcher interested in Roberts County's history or land (or both), or its first landowners after Texas's Independence from Mexico.

Each book in this series is laid out into multiple maps using a 6 mile high by 4 mile wide grid. This book contains 48 such Land Survey maps.

Each Land Survey Map shows the boundaries of original parcels laid out over existing roads, railroads, waterways. These are shown as well as original Survey-Name and the Abstract Number assigned by the Texas General Land Office to the instrument that gave ownership to that parcel.

Beyond the Roberts County Land Survey maps, there are equally useful indexes to give you the real details behind each parcel of land and its original survey and/or ownership.

Other Maps Included . . .

  • Where Roberts County Lies Within the State (Map A)
  • Roberts County and its Surrounding Counties (Map B)
  • An Index Map showing where each of the Land Survey Maps are within Roberts County (Map C)
  • An Index Map that builds upon Map C and shows the community-center points in relationship to the county-grid (Map D)
  • An Index Map that builds upon Map C and shows cemeteries listed in the USGS database in relationship to the county-grid (Map E)

The primary indexes (apart from each Survey-Map's own index of survey-names)

  • An All-Name Index (alphabetical by last-name) for every person mentioned in the maps, utilizing both Texas General Land Office and Texas Railroad Commission data.
  • The Abstract Listing: this is where you find the real details behind each parcel of land. Items are listed by Abstract Number

Each book in this series is plastic-spiral-bound and made to last with a tough laminated cover and acid-free paper.

What is the relevant time-frame (years) for this book?

Whenever the land was first sold or transferred to the public by the United States government. But the truth is that most counties took decades to settle and it is not unusual to find counties where the first patent might date in the 1820s and the last one may be in the 1920s. The important thing to remember is that these are FIRST landowners---not for just a single date---but each parcel is labeled using the first landowner.

You can answer this question with total accuracy by searching the patents in the county you are interested in at the Bureau of Land Management General Land Office's website. This is, after all, our source for the patents that we map.

Buy This!
Size: Medium 16in x 1in
Super heavy duty! Not only does the magnet hold a ton, the strap is totally adjustable to hold wide items. Currently it's holding an 8 ish lb rope on the side of my garage fridge with zero issue! Easy to use and works great!

"Keep On Holding On" assist.
Size: Medium 16in x 1in
Magnet is powerful indeed . The velcro strap is quite long and I have not figured out how to shorten it without cutting it. Great for hoses, ropes, and pull alongs. Temporary use as hold down in a truck bed for lite items.

Nice product with lots of uses. Strong magnet and great strap
Size: Medium 16in x 1in
Used this to replace the Klein magnetic strap on my C-800 multimeter. (This is not easy and takes a lot of manipulation, but if you can get it in the plastic loop on the multimeter up past where the loop in the strap end is sewn, you can use a screwdriver through that to yank it the rest of the way). Once it’s done it’s beautiful! This thing could hold 2 dozen multimeters and it’s MUCH longer without being too long! Otherwise it’s just an awesome strap anyway. It holds a lot of weight (I didn’t test to spec) but definitely enough for what one would expect! I have both sizes, the smaller one is attached to the multimeter and the larger holds a cord to the side of my toolbox. (Tip)- to prevent slipping just put the magnetic base on the other side of the metal by the box tray and let the strap hang over (if attached to a toolbox). It adds to the weight it can hold too. (Just physics). That will work on anything vertical and thin enough to get around with enough slack to still use the strap. 👍. Would definitely buy another
