There are two realities at play in these drawings: the subject in its true state (the man sleeping at the station), and the marks made by my hand on the paper. It is my intent to balance the charge between these elements. The real and the illusion are in an eternal dance of agreement (ÒthatÕs a manÓ) and disagreement (Òthose are messy ink linesÓ). The creation and the act, the finished and the unfinished, caught in a still, intimate moment.
