The FRS-2 Smith Machine provides a massive number of tools in a very compact space. All of your functional training needs are combined with a full commercial power rack and Smith machine. No corners where cut in producing this rack. We went with higher grade components and options in all areas of construction.
The entire frame is made out of 3" x 3", 11-gauge steel. We used the most overkill hardware possible in the construction of this system. Every structural nut/bolt combo used in this system weighs a full pound. The front uprights and weight horns are made out of stainless steel. This increases cost but the long-term wear and tear is superior to common powder coated surfaces. We went with HEAVY weight stacks, 220lb on each side. Pulleys are all aluminum and the high-quality cables give a super smooth feel.
The Smith bar is made out of stainless steel with excellent and consistent knurling. The Bar is mounted to the solid steel guiderod using a series of quality bearings for smooth function.
