In this "powerful and unflinching page-turner" (New York Times), a healthcare journalist examines the science, history, and culture of breast cancer.

As a health-care journalist, Kate Pickert knew the emotional highs and lows of medical treatment well -- but always from a distance, through the stories of her subjects. That is, until she was unexpectedly diagnosed with an aggressive type of breast cancer at the age of 35. As she underwent more than a year of treatment, Pickert realized that the popular understanding of breast care in America bears little resemblance to the experiences of today's patients and the rapidly changing science designed to save their lives. After using her journalistic skills to navigate her own care, Pickert embarked on a quest to understand the cultural, scientific and historical forces shaping the lives of breast-cancer patients in the modern age.
Breast cancer is one of history's most prolific killers. Despite billions spent on research and treatments, it remains one of the deadliest diseases facing women today. From the forests of the Pacific Northwest to an operating suite in Los Angeles to the epicenter of pink-ribbon advocacy in Dallas, Pickert reports on the turning points and people responsible for the progress that has been made against breast cancer and documents the challenges of defeating a disease that strikes one in eight American women and has helped shape the country's medical culture.
Drawing on interviews with doctors, economists, researchers, advocates and patients, as well as on journal entries and recordings collected over the author's treatment, Radical puts the story of breast cancer into context, and shows how modern treatments represent a long overdue shift in the way doctors approach cancer -- and disease -- itself.

Big controllable sound! Buy it
Style: X3206 with One Woofer
Just buy this! It will not disappoint. I bought it for a family reunion gathering in a 5000 square-foot backyard garden. There were multiple seating stations all around and it could be heard from any location without being turned up all the way. Even at the halfway point it is extremely loud. I love that it is waterproof Because I left it outside overnight when the sprinklers came on and it was just fine. The battery charge lasted for five or six hours. It doesn’t take long at all to recharge. It has a good weight to it so it’s not going to blow away, but it’s not too heavy to move around. I use it in the garage. I use it while cleaning. I use it on campsites. It is a fantastic speaker. It is a little large, but not too large that it’s not manageable. I only say that because I have a BOSE small Bluetooth speaker and if you’re used to that small size, this obviously is larger. I have no Bluetooth connection issues with it at all. It plays my Amazon prime music from my phone library perfectly. I would absolutely buy one again. While my BOSE Bluetooth speaker is great, I needed it as an extra boost for a DJ party atmosphere and this did the trick. Here’s a tip, create a playlist on your phone for hours of streaming music or go to YouTube and save your favorite music videos of live music DJs and you have your very own DJ all night.

Best karaoke speaker!
Style: X3206 with One Woofer, Style: X3206 with One Woofer
I was looking to buy a karaoke speaker and all were underpowered or overpriced. This went on sale ~100 and for that price it is THE perfect karaoke speaker. It has dual mic inputs for duets, (4) voice effects, voice echo. Each mic had it's own volume adjustment, there's also adjustment for echo, bass and treble. These are all knobs which i like a lot. The volume is push button which i don't like and would have preferred a knob also . Still, it's a lot of fun for karaoke! What I Iike a lot is the line out. Why? If I feel it needs more power, I can connect to any other speaker with a 3.5mm input. To me this is better than TWS systems that only pair with the same model(s). Speaking of power, it is ok for the size and price. It will sound good indoors at your home or backyard. It may not be the best for a larger hall. But it does have that line-out jack that will let you connect to (almost) any other speaker you want. What I have found lacking so far is the battery life. Fully charged, it was used over BT connection for music at ~50% volume for maybe 1.5 hours with lights and for podcasts at ~15% volume, no lights for 6 .5 hours before it died. So the 14 hour claim must be an exaggeration or only under very specific conditions. Also, bass is adequate, but it's not a 'booming' bass but you can tell it's there. Overall volume is good but will also depend on the device connected.

Great for Karaoke Nights and Small Parties!
Style: X3206 with One Woofer, Style: X3206 with One Woofer
We used the speaker for a recent get-together with around 30 people, and it did not disappoint. The karaoke features and mic input were a big hit, and the party lights added a fun touch. It's super easy to use, and the sound quality—especially the deep bass—is impressive for its size. One thing I really appreciated is the audio-in and audio-out options. If you have a DJ setup, it's super convenient to connect the speaker directly to your deck—no hassle at all. Bluetooth connection took a bit longer than expected to pair, but nothing too bad. Once connected, it worked smoothly the whole night. Great buy for anyone looking for a solid party speaker with versatility!

Style: X5206 with Two Woofers
Sounds cheap, didn’t come with a charger, and the bass does not vibrate at all, so I bought got a jbl 110 the next day. The jbl is a thousand times better, the bass blew me away, and the sound is very high quality. Don’t waste your time and money on it get a jbl
