Preparation: KEEP FROZEN/PREPARE FROM FROZEN ** Cook from frozen until a minimum internal temperature of 165˚F (74˚C) is reached. **

OVEN (best results): from frozen on a baking sheet, bake at 425° F for 6-8 minutes on middle oven rack.

MICROWAVE: from frozen on a paper towel on a microwaveable plate - 2 minutes @ 50% power, turn, 1 minute @ 50% power. Let stand 1 minute or until cool.

Ingredients: Filling: Canned tomatoes (tomatoes, tomato juice, calcium chloride, citric acid), Red peppers, Onions, Mushrooms, Daiya mozzarella style shreds (filtered water, tapioca flour, non-GMO expeller pressed canola and/or non-GMO expeller pressed safflower oil, coconut oil, pea protein, salt, vegan natural flavours, inactive yeast, vegetable glycerin, xanthan gum, citric acid, titanium dioxide (a naturally occurring mineral)), Green olives with pimento, Celery, Tomato paste (tomatoes), Tapioca Starch, Water, Canola oil, Garlic, Parsley, Onion powder, Spices, Salt, Sugar, Pepper. Pastry: Brown rice flour, Organic palm oil shortening, Arrowroot starch, Sweet rice flour, Water, Evaporated cane sugar, Sea salt, Xanthan gum.

Interesting book, dull period

As a Marxist historian, Hobsbawm sees the world at this time, as well as the modern world, as a playground for the forces of capitalism. He apologizes for taking a eurocentric approach to world history, while acknowledging that Europe largely determined the course of world events during this period. In spite of the title, there actually isn't much discussion of colonial empires; Hobsbawm seems more interested in how the Age of Empire affected the rulers more than the ruled. His Marxist sympathies are in evidence and at times make his conclusions a bit predictable, but some of his cultural critiques are quite brilliant. The chapter on the dilemmas posed by modern science is exceptional. Reading a book like this seems to me much more interesting than actually living in this period would have been.
