Nase:
Der 2022 Il Frappato von Arianna Occhipinti duftet nach kleinen Walderdbeeren sowie hellroten Beerenfrüchten wie Preiselbeeren, Himbeeren und Sauerkirschen. Kräuternoten nach Sauerampfer und Lorbeer geben vegetabilen Twist, dazu kommt eine dezent florale Kopfnote. über alldem schwebt gleich einer Prophezeiung eine dunkel-würzige Note nach Wacholder, die ihm mysteriösen Tiefgang attestiert.

Supersaftiger Erfrischer, den man blind niemals in der Hitze Süd-Sizilien verorten würde. Mit transparent klarer Frucht nach Erdbeeren und Kirschen wird er am Zungensaum konturiert von feingliedrigen Gerbstoffen und einer erquickenden Säure, die ihm seine daseinserfüllte Gelassenheit bescheinigt. Mit frischer Frucht im Nachhall ist sein Abgang jovial mit zart-herbem Finish. La dolce Vita!

Info zum Wein:
Der Betrieb von Arianna Occhipinti umfasst heute rund 22 Hektar in den Bezirken Bombolieri, Pettineo und Bastonaca. Der Rebsortenspiegel umfasst Frappato, Nero d’Avola sowie die weiße Zibbibo (Muscat d’Alexandria) und Albanello. Das Weingut „Fossa di Lupo“ (Die Höhle des Wolfes) liegt direkt an einer der ältesten Weinstrassen der Insel, der Strada Provinciale 68. Nach dieser Bundesstrasse sind ihre SP68-Weine benannt, die mittlerweile internationalen Kult-Status genießen.
Der Frappato ist Ariannas Interpretation ihrer Heimat: bitter, blutig und elegant. Seine bäuerlichen Ursprünge liegen in seiner Vergangenheit, seine Exzellenz erfährt er in diesem Moment. Gewachsen auf 280 Metern Meereshöhe auf rotsandigen und kreidigen Böden aus subapenninischem Kalkstein. Bewirtschaftet wird ohne chemische Eingriffe nach biologischen Richtlinien, die Reben sind durchschnittlich 40 Jahre alt und mit einer Stockdichte von 6000 pro Hektar gepflanzt. Die Vergärung erfolgt spontan mit eigenen Hefen, gefolgt von 30 Tagen Mazerationszeit und anschließendem 14-monatigem Ausbaus in großen 25 Hektoliter Fässern aus slawonischer Eiche. Actually feels cool at night

I’ve been using these for several days now and I did notice a difference. I tend to get hot while sleeping, so I was curious if they would actually help, and they do feel cool when you lay on them. I also like that they’re soft and comfortable, not that weird texture some “cooling” products have. So far, I’ve been really happy with them.

Great pillow, but the cooling effect depends on the cover

I really like this pillow overall. It’s comfortable, supportive, and feels well made. When you use it without a pillowcase, it definitely feels cool to the touch and does what it claims in terms of that initial cooling sensation.
However, once you put a pillowcase on it, you can’t really feel the cooling effect anymore. I’ve tried multiple different pillowcases made from different materials, and none of them really let that cool feeling come through.
That said, I still love the pillow itself. It’s comfortable and supportive enough that I’m keeping it. Just keep in mind that the cooling feature works best without a cover, which isn’t ideal for everyone.
Overall, a good pillow — just manage expectations about the cooling effect once it’s covered.
